Spotted Wing Drosophila

The Spotted Wing Drosophila  is a newer invasive insect of soft bodied fruit and particularly damaging in late season raspberries. Attached is a Spotted Wing Drosophila fact sheet to help explain the life cycle and damage.  If you find this insect in your garden, please bring a sample into the office at the Douglas County Courthouse, 1313 Belknap Street, Room 107, Superior, WI.  Bring the specimin in a zip-loc bag and ask for Jane Anklam, Agriculture/Horticulture Educator.  Jane can be reached at jane.anklam@ces.uwex.edu or by calling 715-395-1515.
