A seven part series, “Wisconsin Farm Succession and Estate Planning” will be offered the last Thursday of each month beginning this Thursday, August 25- March 23 (no session in November or December).  The instruction will be via live webinar and held from 1-3 pm at the UW Extension Rm 107, Douglas County Courthouse.

The first offering is free and will concern Agricultural Leasing Contracts, led by UW-Extension Ag. Law Specialist, Phil Harris.  The future sessions will cost $10.00 for the series or $2.00 at the door.

September 22 – Tax implications of transitioning from a sole
proprietorship to an LLC

October 27 – Overview of succession planning – Joy Kirkpatrick, Center for Dairy Profitability (1:00 – 3:00)

November 17 – How big is your house? How big does it need to be?
Financial Analysis for succession planning
 – Kevin Bernhardt, UW-Extension Farm Management Specialist (1:00 – 3:00)

January 26 – Estate Planning – Bridget Finke, Attorney, Bakke Norman Law Offices (1:00 – 3:00)

February 23 – Long Term Care: Planning for my future needs – Steve Shapiro, Medigap Insurance Specialist, State of Wisconsin Board on Aging and Long Term Care and the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (1:00 -3:00)

March 23 – Medicaid Eligibility and Recovery – Anthony Schmoldt, Attorney Schmoldt Law Office (1:00 – 3:00)
